I shared many of those same concerns initially. However, the more I learned about AI, the more I realized that AI is a tool – much like the backhoes, cranes, and design software I use. My goal now is to help demystify AI for other older adults, so we can embrace the benefits of this technology rather than fear it.
As Sun Tzu stated in The Art of War: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.” I believe the same applies to understanding innovative technologies like AI. Through expanding our knowledge, we remove the element of fear and are able to take advantage of the efficiencies and solutions AI can drive across many industries and roles.
I launched this website as a resource to educate people of my generation about AI concepts, terminology, real-world applications both today and in the future, and actionable insights around working with AI rather than against it.
